Newsletter - December 2013
Dear Fellow Gardener
Trees - National Tree Week runs from Saturday 23rd November to Sunday 1st December. To celebrate, we are offering a free stake with every tree bought during the week, and a complimentary tea or coffee. Our staff will be happy to advise, and help you choose the best tree for your site.
Fruit - In addition to ornamental trees, we have a good stock of apples, pears, plums, and cherries, medlars, nuts, and quinces, plus soft fruit. Now is the ideal time to plant.
Hedging - It’s also a great time to plant bare root hedging. We have a wide range of species in stock, and can take orders for larger quantities, and calculate how many plants you’ll need for a longer run.
Mail Order available.
With best wishes
from Rupert, Sara and all at The Place for Plants
As well as plants, we have a lovely range of goodies in our shop, and will be serving mince pies in the café during December to help you get in the festive mood. Avoid the crowds and car park charges by visiting us this winter.
Rupert’s annual Snowdrop Walk will be held at 9.30am on Thursday 13 February. Enjoy the other winter flowering plants as well, at a time of year when the garden is normally closed. Advance booking required, £12 including tea/coffee, or £10 for RHS members.
