A quick update for the end of the summer:
Thursday 11 September – Autumn Colour and Fruits
Rupert will lead a group around the garden, looking at the fruits and the start of autumn colour. Places are still available. Tickets £10, which includes tea/coffee on arrival from 10am. Tour starts at 10.30am.
Autumn really is one of the best times to plant while the soil is still warm, as this establishes root growth before the onset of winter. We have a wide selection of bulbs, ideal to plant now, as well as plenty of herbaceous naturally flowering at the end of the summer. We also have fresh stock of shrubs, also ideal for planting now.
Our popular container grown trees arrive on 16 September and our bare root fruit trees and hedging are due at the beginning of November. We are already taking orders for fruit and hedging plants.
With best wishes from Rupert, Sara and all at The Place for Plants
