The Place for Plants is a family run specialist plant centre and garden, based at East Bergholt, in the beautiful Stour valley on the Suffolk-Essex border. The plant centre is open throughout the year and the garden and arboretum are open from March to September.
The garden and arboretum, often referred to as a Cornish garden in Suffolk, cover 20 acres with many unusual trees and shrubs, spring bulbs, topiary and a series of ponds. The Plant centre, in the spectacular Victorian walled garden, offers a huge range of plants for sale, while the constantly changing plant displays are worth a visit in themselves.
Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October Open and Tree Weekend 10am – 5pm
11am – tour of the garden with Rupert Eley
1.30pm – Talk on Climbers
Above events are free but tickets are needed for the garden tour
Garden will stay open during October – Fantastic Autumn colour and fruit
Please be warned the grass paths are slippery at this time of year and stout outdoor shoes are essential.
